Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Ambo, Oromia. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the finance department in its daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries, into accounting software.

  • Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable Support:

    • Process vendor invoices and prepare payments.

    • Assist with tracking accounts receivable and following up on outstanding payments.

  • Expense Management: Process and verify employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Reporting Support: Assist in preparing basic financial reports, summaries, and analyses as required.

  • Documentation: Maintain organized and complete financial records and filing systems, both physical and digital.

  • Audit Support: Provide assistance during internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.


Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks) is a plus.

  • Language: Fluency in Amharic is required. Proficiency in Afaan Oromo and English is highly advantageous.

  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Ambo, Oromia.
