Job Description

  • Accurately label and document all construction materials, maintaining a systematic inventory to ensure traceability and compliance. 

  • Review and verify specifications for all construction materials, ensuring alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards. 

  • Conduct thorough assessments of construction materials, focusing on consumables such as sand, aggregate, soil, cement, and finishing materials, to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. 

  • Perform necessary testing of materials, including physical and chemical analysis, collaborating with accredited laboratories as required. 

  • Monitor the procurement, storage, and usage of materials on site, implementing effective control measures to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing material quality, compliance issues, and recommendations for improvement, ensuring timely communication with project stakeholders. 

  • Foster strong relationships with the company Supervisors, clients, consultants, and government officials, effectively communicating findings and facilitating collaborative solutions to material-related challenges.

  • Provide training and support to site personnel on the proper handling and application of construction materials, ensuring adherence to quality standards.


Job Requirement

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Materials Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction materials management, quality control, or a related role within the construction industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of material properties, testing methodologies, and quality assurance practices.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients and government representatives. 

  • Relevant certifications in quality control or materials testing (e.g., Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (ECAE), and other related certificates are advantageous.
