Coordinate and manage all import/export activities, including the documentation process, customs clearance, and logistics.
Work closely with suppliers, customs agents, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations, including tariffs, import/export restrictions, and sanctions.
Prepare, review, and manage shipping and export documentation such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
Stay updated on the latest trade regulations, export control laws, and compliance standards for various countries.
Work with internal teams to ensure products meet international standards and certification requirements.
Oversee the transportation of goods via sea, air, or land to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
Collaborate with freight forwarders and shipping companies to optimize shipment routes and manage freight costs.
Handle any logistical issues that may arise, such as delays, damaged goods, or disputes.
Build and maintain relationships with international vendors, customers, customs authorities, and logistics service providers.
Negotiate with shipping agents, carriers, and suppliers for the best terms and pricing.
Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders on shipment statuses and address any concerns.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate import/export activities to avoid stock shortages or overstocking.
Assist in demand forecasting and production planning to align import/export schedules with sales and production targets.
Work closely with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure smooth flow of goods.
Analyze and report on shipping costs, duties, and tariffs to optimize the company's supply chain budget.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the import/export processes.
Resolve issues related to international shipments, such as delayed deliveries, incorrect shipments, or regulatory violations.
Proactively identify risks in the supply chain and implement solutions to mitigate them.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
3-4 years of experience in import/export operations, preferably in the industry and trade sector.
In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, logistics, customs procedures, and shipping documentation.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and clients.
Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) for managing trade documentation and reporting.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in the manufacturing or trading industry.
Familiarity with Incoterms and various shipping methods (sea, air, land).
Experience with customs clearance software and platforms.
