Job Description
Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of transportation vehicles (trucks, trailers, etc.) to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation providers.
Monitor transportation routes and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate inventory records of construction materials.
Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and loss.
Manage warehouse operations, including space allocation, storage methods, and equipment maintenance.
Ensure safe and efficient storage of materials.
Oversee the loading and unloading of materials.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of materials.
Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers.
Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers.
Monitor transportation and warehousing costs.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to minimize expenses.
Job Requirement
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in the construction materials industry.
Required Skills
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
